Note to Self

All day Saturday (and most of Sunday) was my first pain free day since I was stupid on June 4th and hopped on my five week old knee. I was walking normally, ready to start driving, totally pain free and then I hopped. It is still better today than it has been but sitting all day at my desk is rough on it even though I try and keep my knees up and walk around as much as I can.

Today I drove for the first time - I'm fine as long as I don't have to wait in traffic and I am not in the car for long. I guess that rules out driving around Kent and Renton.

Boxed In - More than Halfway Done

I now have all 30 dark purple Boxed In squares done along with 4 white Boxed In squares.

I still need to do 16 white squares, 18 white half squares and 4 white quarter squares. Hopefully I have measured correctly and this will be big enough for my bed (the original pattern was a lap quilt.) Unfortunately last night after physical therapy, I didn’t feel like doing anything.

For the room divider I still need to cut more three square blocks to finish off the five row blocks and the also cut the borders. I also need to figure out what I am doing as far as the cushions for the bench at the end of the bed.

A Few Things Done and a Birthday

My last post was overly optimistic. Ever since I hopped on my new five week old knee on June 4th - it has been very painful and unpleasant. I did manage to get the curtains for the house hemmed - which is progress. I have also been working on my Boxed In blocks and the blocks for the room divider.

 This past weekend on Saturday was Jackson's 4th birthday party on Alki Beach -

 ---- and Lisa came prepared for anything and everything.

How many people does it take to close a Tommy Bahama chair? Quite a few actually and two of these five already have a chair just like this.

Here and There

Yesterday at PT I started to lose my balance because I was laughing and ended up hopping on my 5 week old knee. Unbelievable pain. It hurt too much to sit down and try and get up so I stood for a couple of hours and cut cardboard for the divider in my room once I got home. Tonight it is slightly better so I got the cardboard put away, put the tabs on the remaining scrapbooking spinders, got the next category ready to put away and then put the bed skirt on my bed. Looks good!

Next, I hope to work on the material for the dividers, the Boxed In quilt, and the curtains. I also want to get some more scrapbooking stuff put away.

Rough Week

I hate four day weeks - they are so busy! I did manage to work 9 hour days but didn't get much done at night at home. I did manage to finish another blanket.

On Saturday I got all my scrapbooking stuff out of the spare bedroom - and managed to find more quilting material. Some of it was thrown out, some of it put away, and some was piled into the scrapbooking room to be put away later. Now I just need to get a bed and some display racks for the spare room.

At 5:30 Nicole brought the boys over for the night - Jackson really liked the chocolate stuff.

On Sunday the boys played office while I worked. Note Dylan's hat - he is never without it - it must be genetic.

I only agreed to babysit if Nicole took the boys to Touch a Truck at Magnuson Park.

 It looks like they had a good time!


Sunday afternoon I put labels on the scrapbooking spinders that I have finished filling. I also started working the material for the divider in my room.

Memorial Day Weekend

I spent Saturday putting away scrapbook supplies - for twelve hours. I totally overdid it and my knees were not happy - for days afterward. On Sunday Nicole came over and cut out the rest of her material. For some reasons the boys decided they were zombies and so was their mother.

I also started working on redoing the dust ruffle for my bed - but I only got the bottom ruffle done.
